SUMMER 13: CHICAGO

Hace dos semanas REMED terminó de pintar  este increíble mural llamado Pájaro Cósmico. En colaboración con el Museo Nacional de Arte Mexicano, en el barrio de Pilsen, Chicago, se encuentra esta pieza de intensos colores y figuras geométricas. Sin embargo, ésta no ha sido su única parada en el continente americano, actualmente se encuentra en Memphis donde producirá su próxima escultura de metal. 

Two weeks ago REMED finished painting this amazing mural called Cosmic Bird. In collaboration with the National Museum of Mexican Art in Pilsen, Chicago, there is a piece of intense colors and geometric shapes. However, this has not been his only stop in U.S.A., currently he is in Memphis where he will produce his next metal sculpture.

SUMMER 13: ATLANTA

La anual conferencia de street art y urbanismo de Summerhill, Atlanta, llega a su cuarta convocatoria. Living Walls - The City Speaks, busca promover el compromiso con la educación y cambiar la perspectiva hacia el espacio público a través del arte en la calle. Para ello no sólo prentenden rehabilitar la belleza de la ciudad, sino también fomentar el diálogo con la comunidad a través de murales, talleres, conferencias y exposiciones en galerías. Gracias a la exitosa organización que lo envuelve y a todos sus colaboradores, Living Walls es uno de los festivales más consagrados del arte urbano actualmente. Los 20 artistas invitados, entre ellos 3TTman, vienen con el propósito de poner el arte en la calle, en lugares habitualmente deteriorados, con la esperanza de provocar y efectuar el cambio. 

The annual conference of street art and urbanism of Summerhill, Atlanta, celebrates its fourth edition. Living Walls - The City Speaks, seeks to promote commitment to education and change the perspective  toward public space via street art. Not only do they aim to enhance the beauty of our city, but they also attempt to foster community dialogue through murals, workshops, lectures and gallery series. Thanks to the successful organization that surrounds it and all his collaborators, Living Walls is one of the most celebrated festivals of street art today. The 20 invited artists, including 3TTman, come with the purpose of making art in the street, they are ready to change the urban landscape!

SUMMER 13: ITALIA, AZORES, NEW YORK.

Durante este verano, ELTONO ha estado dando la vuelta al mundo. Empezando por Italia, pasando por Azores y Nueva York, la agenda de este artista francés está que arde. Desde el mes de junio hasta finales de septiembre, los ciudadanos de Bari, Italia, pueden disfrutar de una gran exposición colectiva en las calles de la ciudad. La Galería Doppelgaenger ha desarrollado un proyecto de arte urbano que va más allá de los muros de la propia galería. Se trata de un proyecto de exposición que muestra la evolución del arte en la calle en los últimos diez años. Los artistas invitados han sido Hell´o Monster, Sam3, 108, Sten&Lex, Ozmo y Eltono. Aquí te presentamos el trabajo de nuestro amigo Eltono.

During this summer, ELTONO has been going around the world. Starting with Italy, via Azores and New York, the agenda of this French artist is burning! From June to September, the citizens of Bari, Italy, can enjoy a collective exhibition in the streets of the city. Doppelgaenger Gallery has developed an urban art project beyond the walls of the gallery itself. This is an exhibition project that shows the evolution of street art in the last ten years. Guest artists have been Hell'o Monster, Sam3, 108, Sten & Lex, Ozmo and Eltono. Here we present the work of our friend Eltono.

En el mes de julio, en la isla de Sao Miguel, Azores, se celebró la 3ª edición del Festival Walk&Talk. Festival que une las artes visuales y escénicas y la arquitectura en esta especial isla. En paralelo a los atractivos naturales de la isla, la actividad cultural que emerge en las Azores ha dado un giro gracias a esta iniciativa, que ha situado a las islas como punto de encuentro entre artistas internacionales. Con más de 62 intervenciones de más de 50 de artistas portugueses e internacionales, entre ellos nuestro amigo Eltono, la isla de Sao Miguel se considera un Museo de Arte Público.

In July, on the island of Sao Miguel, Azores, was celebrated the 3rd edition of the Festival Walk & Talk. The festival unites the visual and performing arts and architecture in this special island. Beside the natural attractions of the island and thanks to this initiative the cultural activity of the Azores have been emerging. With more than 62 interventions over 50 Portuguese and international artists, including our friend Eltono, the island of Sao Miguel is considered a Public Art Museum.

Hace pocos días, con motivo del décimo aniversario de Wooster Collective (2003-2013) la Jonathan Levine Gallery presentó una exposición colectiva comisariada por los fundadores del famoso website, Marc y Sara Schiller. Con la participación de más de 50 artistas de todas partes del planeta se pintaron murales a lo largo de la ciudad de Nueva York. En definitiva, es un homenaje al arte urbano alrededor del mundo y a su poder transformador. Aquí os mostramos el increíble trabajo que se ha desarrollado estos días en la ciudad neoyorkina.

A few days ago, about the tenth anniversary of Wooster Collective (2003-2013) the Jonathan Levine Gallery presented a group exhibition curated by the founders of the famous website, Marc and Sara Schiller. With the participation of more than 50 artists from all over the planet were painted murals throughout New York City. It is definitely a tribute to urban art around the world and the transforming power of street art. Here we show the incredible work that has developed in the city these days.

MARSEILLE 2013

Este año, Marsella ha sido proclamada Ciudad de la Cultura. Durante todo el 2013 se celebrarán todo tipo de actividades y eventos culturales que dejarán el listón muy alto para la próxima ciudad elegida.  En el barrio de Belle de Mai se ha creado LA FRICHE, un lugar de producción artística multidisciplinar abierto al público. Se trata de un proyecto desarrollado en una antigua tabaquera que  abarca mas de 40.000 m2 y que emerge como centro de nuevas culturas urbanas. Entre abril y junio de 2013, se puede disfrutar del evento THIS IS (NOT) MUSIC, en donde se mezclan el arte contemporáneo, la música, los deportes, el streetart, el cine... Una iniciativa que trata de ofrecer una nueva visión sobre la influencia del deporte en la creación artística contemporánea. Según el lema del festival, "los vínculos entre las distintas disciplinas demuestran que simples prácticas individuales emergen como culturas genuinas". De ahí la gran exposición final del evento, LA DERNIER VAGUE, en donde se ofrecen instalaciones y performance de arte en directo, conciertos, películas y documentales, demostraciones y competiciones deportivas extremas al aire libre, etc. En esta gran actividad, nuestro compañero REMED participó pintando un gran mural en un espacio único. ¡Aquí te mostramos todos los detalles!

This year Marseille has been named City of Culture. During all 2013 will be held all kinds of activities and cultural events that will leave a very high level for the next city chosen. In the neighborhood of Belle de Mai has been created THE FRICHE, a multidisciplinary artistic production open to the public. It is a project developed in a former tobacco factory covering more than 40,000 m2 and emerging as a center of new urban cultures. Between April and June  of 2013, you can enjoy the event THIS IS (NOT) MUSIC, which mixes contemporary art, music, sports, streetart, cinema ... An initiative that seeks to provide new insight into the influence of sport in contemporary artistic creation. According to the motto of the festival, "the links between the different disciplines show that a simple individual practices emerge as genuine culture". The great final exhibition, THE DERNIER VAGUE, offers art installations and live performance, concerts, films and documentaries, extreme sports demonstrations and competitions outdoors, etc.. In this great activity, our colleague REMED was involved painting a large mural in a single space. Here we show you all the details!
